What are we really sourcing for anyway?

So, when recruiting for new talent, one of the things often missed is the personality match. Most would argue, now more than ever with our unemployment rate being as high as it is, that we have more of an opportunity to source for skill and education but also for personality and attitude.

Seth Godin recently blogged about the search for talent and how it is now, more recently, a search for attitude.

He states, "An organization filled with honest, motivated, connected, eager, learning, experimenting, ethical and driven people will always defeat the one that merely has talent. Every time."

So how to we as recruiters and staffers create ads that are going to recruit not only the right talent, but also the right attitude?

Using just a few words and adjectives that emote the culture of the environment you are advertising for is the key. You don't have to overload your ad to the point of cheesy. Just enough human appeal to make sure you attract the right people.
